About Veronica O Demtchouk

My name is Veronica Demtchouk, MD, and I am an assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old. I subsequently grew up in New Jersey. I earned my undergraduate degrees from Princeton University, majoring in Molecular Biology with minors in Spanish language and culture in addition to global health and health policy.

I went on to receive my medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Following medical school, I completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and a three-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Mount Auburn Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center affiliated with Harvard Medical School. During my time at Tufts Medical Center, I served as the administrative chief resident for the department of obstetrics and gynecology and as chief resident on the quality assurance committee for the division of gynecology.

I am board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Urogynecologic Society and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about medical education and serve as the assistant clerkship director for the obstetrics and gynecology clerkship at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

My clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of pelvic floor disorders, such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, congenital anomalies and urogenital fistulas. I am skilled in vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical approaches. My goal as a physician is to prioritize each patient’s individual goals when deciding on the best medical or surgical treatment plan. I truly love my work, and it is a privilege to empower and help other women to live healthier and happier lives.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and living an active lifestyle.
