Expert IUD Removals and Insertions
Rarely, IUDs may be challenging to remove for various reasons including absence of IUD strings, uterine fibroids present, or malpositioning of the IUD. IUDs may also be difficult to place due to factors including uterine anatomy, fibroids, or history of failed insertions. Our fellowship-trained physicians use ultrasound and other techniques to remove or insert challenging IUDs in the office or in the OR. We have various pain management options to offer patients in the office setting, including lidocaine cervical blocks.
Deep Nexplanon Implant Removals
Also rarely, Nexplanon implants may be found to be deeper than usual in a patient’s arm. Our physicians have undergone extra training to remove these deep implants in the office utilizing ultrasound guidance and other techniques.
Early Pregnancy Access Center
We know that accessing care in early pregnancy can be difficult, especially for patients who are experiencing problems in their pregnancies. We provide urgent pregnancy care for patients in the first trimester who are having bleeding, are concerned about miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, or who desire pregnancy options counseling. We provide patient-centered care that involves timely diagnosis with ultrasound if indicated, compassionate counseling and efficient management.
Complicated Pregnancies
We provide high-quality reproductive health services for patients with complex medical issues. We work in conjunction with the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the management of pregnancies with diagnosed fetal anomalies, second-trimester pregnancy complications, and serious maternal conditions.
Hematology/Gynecology Clinic
In partnership with the Department of Hematology, we see patients who are suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding, inherited bleeding disorders, or inherited clotting disorders and need the care of both a Hematologist and Gynecologist. We evaluate, diagnose and manage abnormal menstrual bleeding. And we can determine safest practices regarding contraception for patients with either bleeding or clotting disorders.
