Margarita Berwick, M.D.

Berwick, MargaritaMargarita was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. Margarita was accepted into the Wake Forest School of Medicine of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. During medical school at Wake Forest Baptist, Margarita participated in multiple research projects and was Co-President of the Vascular Surgery Interest Group where she worked with the other team members to chart curriculum for the year and set up experiences like faculty talks, clinics, and workshops, providing an enriching educational experience for students. Margarita has also served as the Director of Special Projects for the WFSOM Free Clinic where she developed a mobile screening and referral program for the uninsured in the inner city regions and vulnerable members of her community residing in shelters. Margarita’s spouse, Benjamin Berwick, has successfully matched with the University of Florida’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery and will be joining her in the summer of 2019. Margarita enjoys reading fiction novels and popular science books, yoga, running, hiking and exploring new cities.
