Complex Family Planning

 

During this mini-rotation, residents will gain experience with medical and surgical abortion services. This includes patient counseling, discussion of contraception and family planning, and performing termination procedures. This is an opt-out educational experience in accordance with the ACGME’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Program Requirement (IV.A.6.d). All residents complete the “Termination of Pregnancy Procedure Opt-Out Form” at the beginning of their intern year. The purpose of this rotation is to help prepare residents provide individualized, evidence-based care for women with early pregnancy reproductive concerns while understanding the advocacy issues related to abortion access.
