Hosterman

Tyler was born in Orlando, Florida, and grew up in the nearby town of Oviedo. Continuing his family’s legacy, Tyler became a third-generation graduate from the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 2016. In the time following graduation, Tyler worked as a Medical Assistant for the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Surgery and volunteered for numerous organizations in the Orlando area. During this time, he also spent over four months solo-hiking much of the Appalachian Trail, traversing ~1,700 miles through the wilderness of 12 different states. Tyler began medical school at the University of Miami in 2019, where he was fortunate to learn medicine in a diverse and stimulating environment. Over the course of his four years of medical school, Tyler engaged in various projects surrounding EMR access among healthcare workers, optimizing oncologic research databases for ease of use, and working on building a new device to perform D&E procedures in the field of OB/GYN. Upon graduating from medical school in 2023, Tyler became the first physician in his family. His passions include improving patient access to healthcare, implementing technology in the medical field, and medical/patient education. Some of his personal hobbies overlap with his professional interests, as he enjoys prototyping various designs through 3D printing. Outside of medicine, Tyler enjoys the outdoors, weightlifting, woodworking, and visiting his family (as well as his favorite theme parks) in Orlando.
