Cameron grew up in Upstate New York near Albany. He then moved to Western New York to attend SUNY Geneseo where he majored in International Relations with a concentration in the global political economy. As a part of his undergraduate studies, he also studied French and spent time abroad in Senegal, Africa. After graduating, he worked as a patient care technician in a cardiovascular ICU and then in car insurance handling medical claims. He has since attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. In medical school he was a member of the SELECT program, where he gained valuable training in leadership, value-based patient-centered care, and health systems. This program also led him to complete his clinical rotations at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania. Throughout his education, he has continually pursued an interest in global health and served as the President of Project World Health, a student-led group providing health care support to rural communities in the Dominican Republic. Outside of medicine he enjoys biking and spending time with his miniature goldendoodle, Maple.
