Bahram was born and raised in Tehran, Iran before immigrating with his family to Vancouver, British Columbia on the Canadian west coast at the age of 12. He was an Honours Award recipient and accepted an academic Entrance Scholarship to McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario moving him to the east coast of Canada. He completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology & Biochemistry and provided over five years and one-thousand hours of service as a Donor Ambassador with the Canadian Blood Services. He also served on the staff of The Silhouette, the largest and only broadsheet student newspaper in Canada, where he was promoted from Assistant to Senior Photo Editor and finally to Managing Editor. Cultivating his strong interest in photography and photojournalism he continued to publish images and articles in national magazines before matriculating to Saba School of Medicine. While completing his medical degree, Bahram concomitantly obtained his Master of Science in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine. He was president of the Saba Medical Men’s Club and enjoyed spear fishing, exercising, running, and more photography. He served as the Head Teaching Assistant for the Anatomy and Physiology courses, taught medical students in the cadaver laboratory, and performed burn research at Yale School of Medicine. Following graduation, he was accepted into the Family Medicine residency program at University of Florida with initial career goals of returning to Canada. Bahram was selected as the Chief Resident for Women’s Health & Obstetrics and completed a Perinatal Care Area of Concentration. He then stayed at UF in the Internal Medicine department as a Clinical Assistant Professor and hospitalist. While at UF, he was appointed to the GME Committee and served as the College of Medicine representative on the Faculty Senate. His current research is primarily focused on gynecologic oncology and robotic surgery and he is an peer reviewer for journal of Clinical Case Reports. Outside of medicine, Bahram is an avid piano player, photographer, and is currently building a darkroom. He enjoys rebuilding cameras, his motorcycle, and anything else he can take apart, and can usually be found exercising with his girlfriend, Kalie, or doting on their three cats.
