Rodney Edwards, MD, MS, will be joining our Division of MFM. He will also serve as our Department’s Vice Chair for Research, a new position created to facilitate collaborative research in the department among faculty, residents, and students. He will also focus on continuing to build on our existing research infrastructure to expand our research activities that will include AI initiatives. His other role in the MFM Division will be to support MFM ambulatory services in order to help manage the challenges of our recently accelerated growth in demand for MFM services from our local and regional communities. Dr. Edwards received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1995, after which he completed both his residency in OBGYN (class of 1999) and his fellowship in MFM (class of 2002) in our very own programs here at UF. He also completed an MS in Clinical Investigation during his time at UF. Dr. Edwards most recently served as Professor and Chief of MFM at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, OK. He also served as the Program Director of the OU MFM Fellowship and held the Presbyterian Health Foundation Chair in Perinatal Research. He has demonstrated success in clinical care leadership, education, and has built a successful research enterprise with a broad portfolio of research.
