Sara Deatsman, M.D.
Sara was born in Lansing, Michigan. She attended college at Penn State University, where she majored in Microbiology and minored in Biochemistry. Following graduation from college, she worked for two years as a clinical research assistant in the Herma Heart Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She was a member of an echocardiography laboratory team that played a major role in the university’s Single Ventricle Reconstruction Trial, funded by the NIH. As a result of her research in this laboratory, Sara now has co-authored five manuscripts that have been published in peer review journals. At the Medical College of Wisconsin, Sara was an active member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Student Interest Group, and served as a student liaison for the Physiology and Pathology courses.
Sara enjoys singing, playing intramural flag football, exercising, reading, and cooking. She and her husband, Clint, are happy to have traded their cold-weather surroundings for the bright sunshine of Gator country
