Paige Swenson, M.D.







Paige was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida where she received the University Scholars Award.  Her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science was awarded cum laude in 2008.  She worked for a year as a Medical Assistant for a Neurology practice in Port Orange, Florida before earning a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University.  During medical school at the University of Florida, Paige participated in medical outreach projects, including one mission trip to the Dominican Republic and in two mission trips to Thailand.  While serving as trip leader for one of the Thailand expeditions, she was responsible for coordinating travel, fundraising, organization of the clinics, and gathering medications and medical equipment for the group.  Paige also participated in research, receiving a Medical Student Research Program Scholarship to conduct a retrospective chart review examining the correlation between temperature and grade of intraventricular hemorrhage in preterm neonates.  In her spare time, Paige enjoys distance running, surfing, wake-boarding, traveling, and cooking.  Her husband, Andrew, works as a middle school English teacher.
