Michelle Larzelere, M.D.
Michelle first decided to pursue a career as a physician after volunteering at a free clinic in her hometown of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience minoring in Spanish and graduating Phi Beta Kappa. As a medical student at the University of Virginia College of Medicine, Michelle was involved with biomedical research projects examining glucagon response to insulin-induced hypoglycemia and studying the effect of increased awareness of postpartum venous thromboembolism on practice behaviors and patient outcomes. She was a volunteer Spanish interpreter for underprivileged Hispanic parents at the Jefferson Area Children’s Health Initiative, and served as a medical student mentor to University of Virginia premed students. Her hobbies include cooking, photography, reading, and traveling.
