Third Year Clerkship 2008-2009

Rotations
Six-week clerkship with two rotations
- Three weeks: Gynecology at either the Gainesville or Jacksonville campus
- Three weeks: Obstetrics at either the Gainesville or Jacksonville campus

Evaluation
Student Evaluation
All faculty, residents, midwives, nurse-practitioners, and nurses submit evaluations for competency of students with whom they've had sufficient contact. The 6 College of Medicine graduation competencies are evaluated during this clerkship with the following subcategories:

Written Formative Feedback will be provided at the end of the first rotation
Summative Evaluation = Competencies 80% + NBME Subject Exam 20%
Course Evaluation
- The Clerkship Director and Clerkship Administrator will meet with all students the last day to discuss their clerkship experience.
- Students complete a confidential on-line questionnaire evaluating the clerkship activities, and faculty and residents at both sites.

Orientation
Four weeks before the clerkship begins the students will receive an email with instructions from Heather Ellis, Clerkship Coordinator. The first day of the clerkship all students attend orientation in Gainesville at 7 AM. Students on the first Jacksonville rotation will leave for Jacksonville at 12 PM to be in Jacksonville at 3 PM. Rotation assignments are already determined. Specific schedules are handed out at orientation along with learning objectives, evaluation procedures and explanations of activities. The text for the clerkship is Obstetrics and Gynecology for Medical Students, 6th Ed. by Beckmann, et.al.
