John D. Davis, M.D.

Dr. Davis graduated from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1986 and completed his residency training at the University of Florida in 1990. He then spent four years in Germany serving in the United States Army before returning to the University of Florida to join the faculty. Dr. Davis has been the director of the Division of Gynecology since 1995.
Dr. Davis' primary professional interests are general gynecology, surgical gynecology, and medical education. He provides basic and advanced gynecologic services for women from North Central Florida and from throughout the state of Florida and south Georgia. He is able to offer nonsurgical, minimally invasive, and traditional surgical options for women with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, cervical dysplasia, pelvic masses, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse.
Throughout his career, Dr. Davis has been recognized as an excellent medical educator. He received the Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Teacher of the Year Award every year during his residency. As a faculty member, he has served as advisor to two fourth-year medical school classes. In 1997 he received the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics Excellence in Teaching Award and in 1998 received the OB-GYN J. Lee Dockery Teaching Award. In 2000 he received the College of Medicine's Hippocratic Award, given to the faculty member who, in the eyes of the graduating class, has been their most dedicated and inspirational teacher. In 2002 Dr. Davis was inducted into the University of Florida Society of Teaching Scholars, a society whose members have demonstrated interest in and dedication to medical education. In 2007 he received the College of Medicine's Exemplary Teacher Award. He is the Associate Residency Program Director.
Dr. Davis is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and is an active member of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO), the American Urogynecology Society (AUGS), and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy (AAGL). He has lectured nationally and published on topics including abnormal uterine bleeding, urinary incontinence, ectopic pregnancy, the management of abnormal Pap smears, prevention of venous thromboembolic complications of gynecologic surgery, and the management of operative injuries of the ureter. Dr. Davis has been listed in "Best Doctors in America" annually since 2001.
Sharon Byun, M.D.
Assistant Professor, Division of Gynecology, Department of Obstetrics and GynecologyDr. Sharon Byun joins the OB-GYN faculty after five years at the University of Pennsylvania where she was Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in the General OB-GYN Division. A Philadelphia native, she received her medical degree from Temple University in 2000 and completed her residency in OB-GYN at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 2004 where she served as the administrative chief resident.
Dr. Byun brings significant laparoscopic and robotic experience, with her primary professional interests in general gynecology, minimally invasive surgery including Da Vinci Robotic Surgery, and gynecologic care of breast cancer survivors including women with hereditary BRCA 1 and 2 gene mutations. She is also skilled in operative vaginal delivery with forceps and is interested in preserving resident training of this valuable skill.
Throughout her career, Dr. Byun has been recognized as an excellent research and medical educator. At Temple, she received the Scholar's Award for demonstration of outstanding interest and aptitude in OB-GYN. Upon graduation from residency, Dr. Byun received Resident of the Year, the Howard Lees Kent Memorial Prize for Outstanding Scholarship, and Best Resident Research Awards. She places high priority on resident education and received the CREOG Faculty Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education in 2009 at Penn.
Dr. Byun is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the UF College of Medicine's Quality and Safety Committee as well as chair of the department's committee. She has lectured on her interests in robotic gynecologic surgery and surveillance of women on Tamoxifen. She has also published on topics including the role of robotic surgery in urogynecologic surgery, comparison of abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, ovarian preservation in Stage I low grade endometrial stromal sarcomas, and post term pregnancy.
Michael Lukowski, M.D.

Dr. Lukowski received his undergraduate degree in physics from West Virginia University and his Master's Degree in physics from the University of Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida's College of Medicine and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida in 1981.
Dr. Lukowski conducted a private practice in Gainesville from 1981 until 2009 when he closed this practice and joined the Gynecology Division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida. He has delivered over 7000 babies in his career but now devotes most of his practice to Gynecology and teaching residents gynecologic surgery. Throughout his career Dr. Lukowski has had an intense interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgical techniques. He is a certified robotic surgeon utilizing the DaVinci surgical system. Utilizing both robotic and laproscopic surgical skills Dr. Lukowski is able to offer minimally invasive surgical options for women with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse.
Dr. Lukowski is actively involved in several community service and professional organizations. He has served on the executive committee and the growth and development committee of Life South Blood Bank for over 15 years. He also serves as the president of the board of trustees of the Good Shepherd Manor which is a long term care facility for mentally handicapped men located in southern Ohio. He has served on the board of the Alachua County Medical Society for many years and was the president of the Society in 1996.
Shireen Madani Sims, M.D.

Dr. Madani attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Florida. After graduation from medical school in 2001, she completed residency training at the University of Florida in 2005, and subsequently joined the faculty.
Dr. Madani's professional interests include medical education as well as medical and surgical gynecology. In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Madani is the Clerkship Director for Third Year medical students and is active in the College of Medicine on the Medical Student Selection Committee and the Curriculum Committee. She considers the opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.
Dr. Madani's clinical practice includes general obstetrics and medical and surgical gynecology. She has a special interest and postgraduate training in minimally invasive surgery, urogynecology, robotic surgery, and advanced laparoscopy. She has been a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon since 2008.
Dr. Madani has been recognized as an outstanding educator throughout her career. As a resident, she was twice awarded the Hugh Hill Teaching Award, which recognizes the most outstanding resident teacher in the College of Medicine, as voted by the senior medical class. She also won the resident Excellence in Medical Education Award in 2002, presented by the Society of Teaching Scholars. In 2008 she won the J. Lee Dockery, M.D. Teaching Award, awarded to the most outstanding teacher in the OB/GYN department. Most recently she was awarded the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) National Faculty Award. She was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha in 2002 and is a 2011 graduate of the prestigious APGO Scholars and Leaders program.
Dr. Madani has lectured nationally on issues in medical education and has published on topics including vulvar disorders, abnormal uterine bleeding, and sexually transmitted diseases.
She is a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an active member of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO), the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SAAOG), and the International Society for Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD).
Helen L. Ross, M.D.

Dr. Ross is Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida. She is originally from Pennsylvania, where she received her undergraduate degree at Susquehanna University, her Master of Science in Genetics at Pennsylvania State University, and her medical school education at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her residency training at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She then completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Genetics from both the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 1996. Following this, she went into private practice with Ob/Gyn Associates in Jefferson City, Missouri, until she joined the faculty here at the University of Florida in January 2000.
Dr. Ross is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and maintains an active practice in both obstetrics and gynecology here at UF. She has special interests in reproductive genetics, perimenopause/menopause, vulvovaginal health, the management of abnormal Pap smears, breast disease, and domestic violence.
Dr. Ross is active in teaching medical students and residents. She has given presentations here at the University of Florida and to women's groups and physician groups throughout Florida. She has published numerous abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals and is primary author of three book chapters. She recently co-edited a book on perimenopause. She is a member of various professional organizations including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), and the Academy on Violence and Abuse (AVA).
Judith S. Simms-Cendan, M.D.

Dr. Simms-Cendan is Associate Professor in the Division of Gynecology. She attended the University of Miami, then received her medical degree at the University of Florida in 1991. She completed her residency training at the University of Florida in 1995 and became a member of the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Simms-Cendan has special interests in pediatric and adolescent obstetrics and gynecology, contraception for patients with complex medical problems, management of abnormal cervical cytology, and minimally invasive surgery.
In addition to her gynecologic practice, Dr. Simms-Cendan maintains a weekly clinic for women's health care at the UF Infirmary on campus. She has been honored as one of the "Top Ten Clinical Teachers" and named an "Exemplary Teacher" in the UF College of Medicine. For seven years she has been Course Director of "Project Yucatan," an international program with medical students to deliver women's health care to rural communities in the Yucatan, Mexico. She is a frequently invited speaker for numerous community projects, including the March of Dimes Chain Reaction and other teen pregnancy prevention outreach programs. She has also been recognized as one of the "Top Doctors in Florida" by Florida Monthly magazine.
Dr. Simms-Cendan is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as an active member of many professional organizations including the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and the Society for Adolescent Medicine.
Keith Stone, M.D.

Dr. Stone joined the faculty of the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1988. His clinical area of expertise has been and continues to be gynecologic surgery. He maintains a long-standing membership in the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and the American Urogynecology Society. His academic focus has been in the areas of teaching for which he has been recognized with the Hippocratic Award for Teaching Excellence and the Clinical Sciences Teacher of the Year Award.
Dr. Stone completed medical school training at the University of Virginia. His residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center was followed by completion of the McMurtry Fellowship Training in pelvic surgery at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining the University of Florida, Dr. Stone served in the United States Army as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Surgery at the Nurenberg, Germany MEDDAC. He was Chief of Gynecologic Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center. Upon joining the University of Florida, Dr. Stone maintained his military affiliation in the Reserves and was deployed for Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He retired as a Colonel with 32 years of service. At the University of Florida he served as Gynecology Division Director until 1995, when he assumed the chairmanship of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology until 2007, when his focus altered with concerns about the status of women in underdeveloped countries. In 2007 he served six months with Doctors Without Borders in West Africa. He continues to participate in international medical health care outreach programs through the University of Florida College of Medicine programs in Latin America, and as a spokesperson for Doctors Without Borders.
Alice Rhoton-Vlasak, M.D.

Dr. Alice Rhoton-Vlasak is a Associate Professor at the University of Florida, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology working in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Rhoton's educational background includes undergraduate training at Wake Forest University followed by medical school at the University of Florida. She then attended residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida followed by fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Rhoton's area of interest includes treatment of conditions leading to infertility, as well as other reproductive endocrinology disorders including the treatment of hirsutism, amenorrhea, and endometriosis. Her practice involves both clinical and surgical endeavors. An area of interest is in fertility preservation cancer patients, a program being developed at The University of Florida. She also takes great interest in routine women's health care that involves yearly visits, as well as education that can be given at the time of those visits.
Gregory Schultz, PhD
Professor, Div of Reprod EndocrinologyDr. Gregory Schultz received a PhD in Biochemistry from Oklahoma State University in 1976 then completed three years of post-doctoral study in Cell Biology at Yale University. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine in 1979, and was promoted to Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Ophthalmology in 1985. In 1989, Dr. Schultz was appointed Professor of Ob/Gyn at the University of Florida where he established the Institute for Wound Research to study molecular and cellular regulation of healing. Dr. Schultz's research focuses on the roles of growth factors, cytokines and proteases in normal and chronic wound healing in skin and eye. He has published more than 250 research papers, chapters and review articles, which have been cited more than 6,500 times, and he has over a dozen patents in the area of wound healing that serve as the intellectual property foundation for two biotech companies he has helped to launch. He is a Principle Investigator or Co-Investigator on research grants totaling over $30 million from the National Institutes of Health and pharmaceutical companies, and he is a consultant for multiple biotechnology companies. He was recognized as an Innovation Leader by TIME magazine in 2006. He is the Chair of the Wound Bed Preparation Advisory Board, a member of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, and he served as President of the Wound Healing Society from 1999-2001. He has served as the primary advisor for over 20 PhD or MS graduate students and trained more than 15 post-doctoral associates. He was awarded a Medicinae Doctorem (h.c.) degree from Linkoping University, Sweden in 1996, and he received the Basic Science Research Award from the University of Florida, College of Medicine in 2008. He was recognized as the International Educator of the Year for the College of Medicine in 2008, and he was recognized as an Exemplary Educator in the College of Medicine in 2009.
Linda S. Morgan, MD
Professor & Director, Division of Gynecologic OncologyLinda S. Morgan attended college at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and received her B.S. degree in 1971. She attended medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville in 1979. She then went on to complete a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 1979-1981.
Dr. Morgan, is the Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Division in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She was recently named the J. Wayne Reitz Professor of Gynecologic Surgery in the department in January of 2000. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and Medical Director of Tumor Registry Shands Hospital. Her interests include treatment of gynecologic malignancies and reconstructive surgery in gynecology.

Dr. Richards graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University then attended the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Upon graduation, he received the Michael Worley award for the top medical student in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah in 1985. His fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill emphasized genetics and prenatal ultrasound diagnosis. Dr. Richards joined the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987, and is now a Professor in the Department. He also holds a joint appointment as Professor in the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Richards is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Richards' clinical practice encompasses all aspects of high-risk pregnancy care. He is the head of the ultrasound section of the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and his primary area of emphasis for clinical care and research is Ob/Gyn ultrasound. Dr. Richards is a reviewer for Obstetrics & Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the editorial board for Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Amelia C. Cruz, M.D.
Professor Emeritus, Obstetrics and GynecologyDivision of Maternal-Fetal Medicine
In December 1973, Dr. Amelia Cruz came to the University of Florida as a fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. After completing the fellowship in 1975, she stayed on as a member of the faculty. In 1979 until 2008, she was chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and became a full professor in 1987.
Dr. Amelia Cruz completed her doctor of medicine degree at the Far Eastern University in the Philippines in 1964, and pursued a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Lukes Hospital in the Philippines before coming to the United States. She did a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center from 1969-1973. In 1973 she was a faculty member at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center before she pursued her career in Maternal-Fetal Medicine by enrolling in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Florida. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology receiving that recognition in 1974, and became board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine in 1977. She has participated in the voluntary board recertification program of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2003.
Dr. Cruz is involved in teaching residents, medical students, and postgraduate fellows and takes care of women with normal and high-risk pregnancy problems. She participates in the Prenatal Diagnosis Service and performs ultrasounds, amniocenteses, and umbilical blood samplings.
She is a member of national organizations such as the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, South Atlantic Society of Obstetrcians and Gynecologists, and the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society. In her activities in these national organizations, Dr. Cruz has served as the president of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Patrick Duff, M.D.
Professor & Residency Program Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Assoc Dean for Student AffairsI was born on May 20, 1946, in Washington, D.C. I was raised in suburban Maryland and attended public schools throughout high school. I attended college at Harvard University from 1964 to 1968 and then pursued a Master's Degree in Public Administration at the University of Virginia from 1968 to 1970. At that point, I had a change in career plans and entered medical school at Georgetown University. I graduated from Georgetown in May 1974 and then began a long service obligation with the U.S. Army. While in military service, I completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas in San Antonio. I served as a faculty member at three of the Army's major teaching centers: Walter Reed, Letterman, and Madigan. I completed my military service as Director of Obstetrics at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. In 1989, I retired from active duty and accepted a faculty position in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida.
I have worked at the University of Florida for 19 years. I presently serve as the Residency Program Director, Director of Fellowship Research, and Associate Dean for Student Affairs. My principal academic interests are research in infectious diseases; teaching students, residents, and fellows; and writing and editing scientific manuscripts.
I married my wife, Judy Eberle, on August 10, 1968, and we have been together for 40 very happy years. We have four children who range in age from 26 to 38 years. My principal extracurricular activities are spending time with my family, reading, and playing the guitar in our church choir.
Kenneth R. Kellner, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Kellner was raised on Long Island, New York and began his career with an interest in embryology at Union College where he was an Eliphalet Nott Scholar. Attending the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in the Combined-Degree Program, he received both a M.D. and Ph.D. degree in 1973 doing research in embryology and genetics. This was followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida. He is board certified in both fields and has been on the faculty of the University of Florida since 1977.
Dr. Kellner's clinical interests are diabetes and pregnancy and psychosocial aspects of obstetrics and he is the Director of the Perinatal Diabetes Program at the University of Florida. He is also an internationally recognized expert on perinatal bereavement and perinatal loss and has served as President of the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Kellner has a strong interest in medical education and is Director of the Third-Year Student Clerkship in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been honored with local and national teaching awards. He is also Division Outreach Education Program representative and has spoken at hospitals all over the state on topics ranging from high-risk pregnancy to medico-legal issues.
A dedicated family man, Dr. Kellner and his wife have two grown sons. In his leisure time he enjoys Gator Football, adventure travel, photography and tinkering.
Nash Moawad, MD, MS
Section Head of Minimally Invasive SurgeryAssistant Professor
Dr. Moawad joins the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UF as of Mid-July as the Section Head of Minimally-invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
Dr. Moawad is fellowship-trained in Minimally-invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He has extensive training in the state-of-the-art management of abnormal bleeding, fibroids, ovarian pathology, chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. During his fellowship, he achieved a Masters in Clinical Research from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Moawad completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospitals of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Family Medicine in Toledo, Ohio before pursuing his career in advanced gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Moawad's professional passions revolve around the introduction and advancement of minimally-invasive surgical options for women, as well as resident education in laparoscopic surgery. His research interests are focused on endometriosis, new surgical techniques and laparoscopic instrumentation. He has lectured at regional and national meetings, and taught at surgical workshops. Dr. Moawad's passion for the advancement of surgical care for women has led him to publish in several reputable medical and surgical journals, including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Minimally-invasive Gynecology, the Journal of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
Dr. Moawad is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and is an active member of several national organizations such as the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and Society of Reproductive Surgeons (ASRM/SRS) and the Society for Clinical and Translational Science (SCTS).
Among Dr. Moawad's accolades are the prestigious "Special Excellence in Gynecologic Endoscopy" award through the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the "Wolf Utian Surgical Excellence" award from the University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
David Stewart, M.D.

Dr. Stewart attended the University of Alabama Pre Medical Education and received his M.D. from the Universidad Technologica de Santiago in 1985. Following a clinical externship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, he completed his residency at Texas Tech University in 1992 while also serving in the United States Army National Guard, Medical Branch.
Upon completion of residency in 1992, Dr. Stewart joined the staff of Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, where he provided community-based OB-GYN care. During his service at AGH, he served on the Operational Committees and Executive Committees, in addition to being Chairman of the Department of OB-GYN for several terms until closing of the hospital in 2009.
Dr. Stewart joined the Department of OB-GYN at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2003 out of his desire to be involved with teaching students and residents. In 2009, with the closure of AGH, he was reassigned to the Shands/UF campus where he continues with his active clinical practice and duties.
Dr. Stewart has provided general obstetrical and gynecological care to the women of Alachua County, Florida, and the surrounding areas for the past 18 years. His practice includes well-woman preventive health care, prenatal care, and benign gynecologic problems. His expertise includes traditional surgical procedures as well as advanced laparoscopic techniques.
Dr. Stewart is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He remains an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Florida Medical Association.
Richard Kreinest, M.D.

Dr. Kreinest graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1982 and completed his residency training at Wright State University and Affiliated Hospitals in 1986. He served in the United States Air Force Medical Corps and spent four years as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the 31st TFW Hospital in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida. He concurrently served as Associate Professor of OB-GYN at Southeastern University of Health Sciences. He entered Private Practice in OB-GYN in Gainesville, Florida, in 1990. He was affiliated with Shands at AGH and served as Chief of OB-GYN from 1993-1996 and from 2003-2005. Dr. Kreinest served as Shands AGH/UF Chief of Staff and Shands AGH/UF Operations Chairman from 2001-2002. He joined the Department of OB-GYN at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2003 and currently is a faculty member in the Division of Gynecology.
Dr. Kreinest's primary professional interests are general obstetrics and gynecology, comprehensive obstetrical care, surgical gynecology, and medical education. He provides basic obstetrical and gynecological services for women in North Central Florida. He is able to offer complete prenatal care, as well as nonsurgical, minimally invasive, and traditional surgical options for women with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, cervical dysplasia, and urinary incontinence.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kreinest has been recognized for his dedication to patient care. He has been a member of the We Care Network and a Primary Physician for the Women's Health Center at Gainesville Women's Resource Center, providing voluntary care for indigent patients. He is currently the voluntary Medical Director for A Woman's Answer Medical Center in Gainesville.
Dr. Kreinest is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He was a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has also been an Instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and was certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. He remains an active member of numerous professional and honorary organizations including Alpha Sigma Mu National Jesuit Honor Society, Society of Air Force Clinical Surgeons, Alachua County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Association.
Emily E. Weber LeBrun, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Weber LeBrun, a Gainesville native, earned her Bachelor's degree in philosophy at Mount Holyoke College and returned home for medical school at the University of Florida. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts where she was recognized as the Resident Teacher of the Year in 2007. She also earned the Ronald T. Burkman, MD Resident Award for Innovation in Research. Dr. Weber LeBrun showed early interest in urogynecology and, as a second year resident, was awarded an educational grant as an American Urogynecologic Society Resident Scholar. Dr. Weber LeBrun completed an accredited three year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA in 2010. Her fellowship included training in adult urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery including the surgical and non-surgical management of urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, abdominal, vaginal and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Weber LeBrun completed a two year Master's of Science in Clinical Investigation program at UMass Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2010. Her studies focused on epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, ethics, multi-disciplinary translational science, scientific writing and peer-review critiques. Dr. Weber LeBrun's research interests include objective and subjective surgical outcomes assessment, quality of care, comparative effectiveness of surgical devices and techniques, and medical education strategies.

International Medical Outreach
Dr. Weber LeBrun has participated in several international medical outreach programs throughout her educational career. As an enthusiastic collegiate, Dr. Weber LeBrun lived in Gualan, Guatemala for almost a year, developing education programs and teaching health considerations in rural communities. Medical school provided multiple opportunities in Tanzania and Kenya, where Dr. Weber LeBrun joined Choice Humanitarian to help villagers and local public health workers to provide medical care in remote towns. Additional medical outreach trips to Nicaragua and Ecudaor focused on the development of multi-disciplinary approaches to global health care, and included students from UF's College of Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Weber LeBrun enjoys providing care to Spanish-speaking patients.
Jacqueline C. Castagno, M.D.

Dr. Jacqueline C. Castagno is Assistant Professor, Division of Gynecologic Oncology. She received her B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1980 and M.D. with Distinction in Research from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1985. She completed her residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York in 1989. Dr. Castagno went on to complete Research and Clinical Fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology at The Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University in Washington D.C., where she remained for 3 years as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology after completing her training. Subsequently she joined the faculty at St. Luke's / Roosevelt Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Castagno moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 where she joined a large Gynecologic Oncology group. In 2006, she opened a solo practice in Atlanta.
Dr. Castagno is Board Certified in Gynecologic Oncology and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Castagno's special interests include cancer prevention in women, clinical trials, treatment of vulvar and cervical cancer, HPV-related disease, and Palliative and Hospice care.
Anthony R. Gregg, M.D.
Professor and Chief Maternal-Fetal MedicineUniversity of Florida Obstetrics and GynecologyDr.Gregg joined the UF Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as Professor and Chief, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in June 2011. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology magna cum laude. He then attended medical school at Loyola Univeristy Stritch School of Medicine and, subsequently, completed residency training at the same medical center. Following graduation from residency, Dr. Gregg completed a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa and a post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Gregg has held faculty positions in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. Most recently, he has been the Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Medical Director of the Division of Genetics at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
Dr. Gregg is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Clinical Genetics. He has received numerous awards for excellence in research and has had several NIH research grants. He has co-authored thirty peer-review articles and seventeen textbook chapters. He also has served as a peer reviewer for multiple scientific journals.
His clinical interests are many, and include the care of patients with medical complications of pregnancy especially those with a history of severe preeclampsia (hypertension associated conditions of pregnancy) or predispostion to blood clotting. He is devoted to patients with a history of pregnancy loss especially those with loss that took place before 28 weeks from early rupture of the membranes and early labor. Dr. Gregg like most high risk obstetricians understands pregnancies complicated by birth defects and his genetics certication uniquely postions him to care for those pregnancies complicated by maternal or fetal genetic problems.
David S. Guzick, M.D., Ph.D.

David S. Guzick, M.D., PH.D., is senior vice president for health affairs and president, UF & Shands Health System. He also serves as board chair for both Shands at UF and Shands Jacksonville.
Since his appointment on July 1, 2009, Dr. Guzick has focused on promoting close and trusting collaborations between Health Science Center faculty and hospital administration as the principal means of ensuring success in all three missions of UF&Shands, the University of Florida Academic Health Center. He has emphasized quality and safety in patient care as Job 1, and promoting excellence in clinical and translational research at UF to complement existing strength in biomedical science, including construction of an academic home for clinical and translational science.
From 2002-2009, Dr. Guzick was dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. In addition to serving as dean, he was principal investigator for Rochester's NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award. From 1995 until 2002, Dr. Guzick served as the Henry A. Thiede professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program of the National Institutes of Health. Following a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
An internationally known expert in reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Guzick was inducted into the Society of Scholars at the Johns Hopkins University in 2004 as a national and international leader in that field. In 2008, Dr. Guzick was elected to the Institute of Medicine, one of the nation's highest honors in the fields of medicine and health.
Robert Egerman, M.D.
Professor, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Dr. Egerman was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his bachelor of science in engineering (biomedical) from Tulane University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Egerman completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida. He did his fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland and returned to the south to begin his faculty career at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. While in Memphis he completed a second residency in Internal Medicine and for the past several years held joint appointments in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee. In December 2011, he returned to the University of Florida and holds joint appointments in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Internal Medicine at the University of Florida.
Dr. Egerman is clinically active as a perinatologist and as an internist. Dr. Egerman is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Internal Medicine. He has a long standing interest in medical complications of pregnancy as well as fetal sonography. He has authored several peer-review articles and text book chapters and as a co-investigator, has received funding from the NIH as well as the CDC. He is as a peer reviewer for scientific journals in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. His outside interests include non-profit work for medically and non- medically related charities, animal advocacy, golf and kayaking.
Dikea (Kay) Roussos-Ross, M.D.

Dr. Dikea (Kay) Roussos-Ross joined the faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in January 2012 as an Assistant Professor and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Roussos-Ross is Board Certified in Psychiatry and is Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her areas of focus include high risk obstetric patients with co-morbid psychiatric and substance use disorders. Dr. Roussos-Ross's clinical practice includes high risk obstetrics, in addition to general obstetrics, gynecology and surgical gynecology.
Dr. Roussos-Ross completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Florida graduating with Research Honors from the College of Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2002. Prior to receiving her MD degree, Dr. Roussos-Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, graduating with Highest Honors, and continued with her UF studies in the Physician Assistant Studies Program receiving a Bachelor of Science in Medicine and a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Dr. Roussos-Ross first completed a residency in Psychiatry and joined the UF Department of Psychiatry as an Assistant Professor and Medical Director of the Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit with a primary area of focus in Perinatal Psychiatry. Additionally, Dr. Roussos-Ross is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Roussos-Ross continued further in pursuing her interest in women's health with a second residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is now an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
