Dr. Kreinest graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1982 and completed his residency training at Wright State University and Affiliated Hospitals in 1986. He served in the United States Air Force Medical Corps and spent four years as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the 31st TFW Hospital in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida. He concurrently served as Associate Professor of OB-GYN at Southeastern University of Health Sciences. He entered Private Practice in OB-GYN in Gainesville, Florida, in 1990. He was affiliated with Shands at AGH and served as Chief of OB-GYN from 1993-1996 and from 2003-2005. Dr. Kreinest served as Shands AGH/UF Chief of Staff and Shands AGH/UF Operations Chairman from 2001-2002. He joined the Department of OB-GYN at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2003 and currently is a faculty member in the Division of Gynecology.  In July 2013 he became Director of Women’s Health at Springhill.

Dr. Kreinest’s primary professional interests are general obstetrics and gynecology, comprehensive obstetrical care, surgical gynecology, and medical education. He provides basic obstetrical and gynecological services for women in North Central Florida. He is able to offer complete prenatal care, as well as nonsurgical, minimally invasive, and traditional surgical options for women with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, cervical dysplasia, and urinary incontinence.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kreinest has been recognized for his dedication to patient care. He has been a member of the We Care Network and a Primary Physician for the Women’s Health Center at Gainesville Women’s Resource Center, providing voluntary care for indigent patients. He is currently the voluntary Medical Director for A Woman’s Answer Medical Center in Gainesville.

Dr. Kreinest is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He was a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has also been an Instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and was certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. He remains an active member of numerous professional and honorary organizations including Alpha Sigma Mu National Jesuit Honor Society, Society of Air Force Clinical Surgeons, Alachua County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Association.
