Martha Jean Pierce, RN, ARNP, is the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner for the Outpatient Gynecology Clinic in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Ms. Pierce holds dual licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Florida. Martha Jean began as an R.N. in Selma, Alabama, and came to Gainesville where she has worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for several years. She completed her education as an ARNP in Women’s Healthcare at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, then joined a private practice group where she has been an ARNP in Women’s Health since 1997. She is board certified by the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC) as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner. She has been affiliated with the Division of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since March 2009.

In her current position, Ms. Pierce provides gynecological, family planning and well woman care as well as outpatient gynecologic care to women seen in the gynecology clinics at Springhill and Women’s Health at the UF Medical Plaza. Her role as an OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner has been to perform patient assessments and physical examinations and to provide comprehensive, compassionate and high quality care in the diagnosis and management of women. Her primary interest is in the perimenopausal/ menopausal woman. She likes to spend time educating females on the way their bodies work and the options for treatment when things are not working correctly.
