Danielle Elswick is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. She received a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing with a focus in nurse midwifery from the University of Florida in 2016. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida and began her nursing career in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at UF Health Shands Hospital. During her time in the ICU she gained certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and was privileged to care for acute, complex patients in all phases of life.

She recently joined the department to work in the UF Women’s Center at Shands Medical Plaza to provide prenatal and postpartum care to women with high-risk pregnancies. Her time at the UF Women’s Center has provided her the opportunity to build strong clinical skills while blending her love for midwifery with the intricacy of high-risk pregnancy.

Danielle’s desire to care for women started at age two after the birth of her sister, setting the cornerstone in her path to becoming a midwife. Experiencing pregnancy and motherhood further deepened her passion for caring for women in pregnancy.
