Natalia Prieto, CNM is a Certified Nurse Midwife for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine.  Ms. Prieto was born and raised in Mendoza, Argentina.  She graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Midwifery, and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from The College of New Rochelle in New York.  She also received a Bachelor’s in Engineering Science with a minor in Bio-mechanics from the University of Florida prior to her nursing career. 

Ms. Prieto’s clinical experiences at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville have provided her with exposure to diverse populations as well as low and high-risk pregnancies.  These experiences have given her a solid foundation as a new midwife, as well as deepened her enthusiasm for one of the oldest professions in the world.  She is bilingual in Spanish and English, another asset and evidence of her commitment to intercultural respect and competency.  She is also a preceptor for midwife students, medical students and Family Practice residents.  Furthermore, she has both academic and practical experience with the Centering Pregnancy Model.  In the fall of 2015, Ms. Prieto conducted her first Centering Spanish group.
